Donington 2013

Another great race with my class B championship rival in race one, the highlights of which you can see above. He had better straight line speed but the Phoenix had better handling due to the Suspension Geometry Calculator. I still have too much understeer on exit but I believe this is due to the amount of bump steer I have especially on the left hand side of the car (don’t ask!). Anyway, this is something I will cure before next season.

Unfortunately, in the second race and after some great racing between us we collided entering Goddards corner. I was travelling far too fast to be able to make the turn and leave enough space on my left for the car I was racing so as I tried to make the sharp turn right the rear instantly lost grip and span me round. There doesn’t appear to be any major damage to both cars but my competitor was beached and my battery decided to lose all it’s charge so I couldn’t get going again. I’m very annoyed with myself for making this move.

The last race weekend of the season and the B championship decider is in 3 weeks at Cadwell Park.
